Spring finger affects the tendons that flex the fingers. When the tendon sheath becomes inflamed, it makes it difficult to extend or flex the affected fingers, which may suddenly lock or trigger. The symptoms of spring finger are: inflammation, pain when flexing or extending the finger involved, pressure or paralysis of the finger joints... In the initial stages, it can be treated by corticosteroid infiltration in our clinic, but if the symptoms return, a simple surgical intervention is indicated in which the pulley is cut and the finger can move normally and without pain.
