Liposuction body surgery, performed by the plastic surgery clinic of Dr. Pedro Teran and Dr. Francesca Zavalloni in Burgos, consists in suctioning the subcutaneous fat by introducing a cannula connected to a vacuum pump under the skin.
Liposculpture is a surgical procedure used to extract adipose tissue from some areas of the body, especially the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and neck.
The procedure is performed by means of suction through cannulas or thin tubes, leaving very small scars of 3mm long.
Although this procedure improves the abdominal contour by eliminating fat deposits, it does not improve skin flaccidity, cellulite and/or stretch marks. It is also not a weight loss procedure; if you do not maintain a balanced diet and regular physical activity, you are likely to regain the weight you had before the operation.
Liposuction is usually performed under local anesthesia and sedation, but in very extensive cases it will be performed under general anesthesia. The technique, which is always performed in an operating room, consists essentially in the aspiration of fat by introducing a cannula that is connected to a vacuum machine or a special syringe, depending on the case, and making numerous tunnels in the area previously marked.
If the skin elasticity was diminished, irregularities or small depressions may remain which may require additional correction by means of selective liposuction and/or fat injections.
